The aim of this project is to provide an understanding of the current web service workload and the subsequent resource requirement as a result of this workload. What we are planning to study here is that how well our college is equipped to handle its current workload and whether the current capacity of the system could cope with the rising demand on its workload. The university runs the system as a part of its commitment to the students. It wants to make the system a gateway to both incoming and outgoing students. This is the main communication point through which the incoming student uses the various features usually called the Intranet services. Regular monitoring and good performance levels of this system becomes especially critical. Therefore the computing services which is the main organization incharge of the computing operations in the college regularly monitors the performance of this server. As a part of which they periodically collect logs and other vital server statistics. Our aim in this project is to make use of these statistics and collect some more of our own and provide an analytical model for the workload on this site.
