Description: This course is intended to give you an in-depth exposure to topics in high performance mass storage and parallel I/O. The book edited by Hai Jin, Toni Cortes, and Rajkumar Buyya on High Performance Mass Storage and Parallel I/O: Technology and Applications will be used as a starting point for papers and topics. Other additional course material will come from assigned outside papers. Students will participate in the course through presentations. Homework assignments will include both theoretical analysis and implementations.
| Prerequisite: | Graduate status. |
| Recommended: | The best prepared students will have had either Advanced Operating Systems (CSCE 5313) or Cluster Computing (CSCE 4253), or the equivalent.
